Dopo il 1957 Burri presenta i Legni, le Combustioni, i Ferri nelle mostre che si tengono in alcune città americane. Realizza fra gli anni Sessanta e i primi Settanta alcune importanti mostre a L'Aquila (1962), Darmstadt, Rotterdam (entrambi nel 1967), Torino (1971) e Parigi (1972).
